residence - byung-hun min

As part of Parcours de l'Art 2025, echoing the Terre de Culture 2025 program of the city of Avignon and the France-Korea year 2025-2026, we had the privilege of hosting the Korean photographer Byung-Hun Min, nicknamed the "Master of Grey", in a creative residency for six weeks.

Her series "Voyage dans le Sud" (Journey to the South), created between 2020 and 2021, highlights the poetic landscapes of southern Korea. These works, imbued with exceptional artistic sensitivity, have been widely acclaimed, with exhibitions in Korean museums and galleries, as well as the publication of a monograph, exhibition catalogues, and articles in specialized art and photography journals.

This residency, funded by the DRAC Festival Grant, offered the artist an opportunity for total immersion in the city and region of Provence, which he explored through his unique perspective. Throughout this experience, Byung-Hun Min captured the landscapes and atmosphere of this territory, developing, upon his return to Korea, a new photographic series. This work will be presented in 2026 as a solo and/or group exhibition in France, at the Parcours de l'Art, and in Korea, thus creating an artistic dialogue between the two cultures.
