Supported in particular by the city of Avignon, Parcours de l’art uses heritage sites to present contemporary creation in different forms: paintings, drawings, sculpture, photographs, videos, installations, performances…

Since 1994, the "Parcours de l'Art" festival has grown considerably thanks to a demanding selection of artists, the public's trust, and the commitment of the association's members who work on its programming each autumn.

Parcours de l’art affirms its desire to address all audiences, near and far, novices or art lovers, and pays particular attention to the youngest.
Free admission, freedom to wander, and tailored mediation promote dialogue between artists and the public, make the event accessible, and invite us all to question as much as to marvel.

In the winter of 2020-2021, the Parcours de l'Art team handed over the reins to a new collective committed to respecting the event's values - openness, freedom, sharing - while fostering a new perspective on contemporary art and its transdisciplinarity and addressing current societal challenges, including respect for human beings and the planet.

Parcours de l’Art is committed, in the daily life of the association, to adopting behaviors that respect biodiversity and the environment. Simple commitments that we invite you to follow at home and at work.

Parcours de l’Art is a place for sharing and exchange. As such, the festival can generate environmental externalities. However, it is working to reduce these and has implemented concrete actions to lessen its environmental impact.

CONTRIBUTE TO PRESERVING THE ENVIRONMENT

A resource economy

To save electricity, lights, computer and electronic equipment are systematically switched off and no electrical appliance is left on standby.
To reduce our paper consumption, application files and archives are managed electronically. Documents are only printed when absolutely necessary. Furthermore, unused printouts are reused as drafts. Used paper is then placed in recycling containers.

Reduce travel and favour clean and environmentally friendly modes of transport

The festival generates significant travel, both for the public and for performers, as well as for the organization and logistics. The festival encourages the use of trams or carpooling for individuals.
For our artists' travel from France or abroad, the festival favours train travel.
The festival team encourages remote working when it is compatible with our employees' roles. This means fewer commutes, which translates into more time to develop projects focused on biodiversity and environmental protection!

Managing the collection, sorting and fate of waste

The festival is committed to reducing the consumption of raw materials; repairing and reusing scenography elements and creating multi-year signage (tarpaulins, kakemono, ...).
Because not all waste is avoidable, the Parcours de l'Art team contributes to waste collection (paper and packaging).

Mastering purchasing

To help preserve the planet, the festival highlights its local partners, service providers and suppliers.
The festival is committed to better consumption. To this end, particular attention is paid to the origin of products and their recycling processes.
With this same goal in mind, Le Parcours de l'Art is equipping itself with recycling centers. This is an opportunity to reuse and give a new life to materials in good condition!

With the desire to go further in its approach to social responsibility, the festival has joined COFEES, the Collective of eco-responsible and solidarity festivals in the South region.

COFEES brings together events across multiple artistic disciplines. It is based on sharing experiences and pooling resources, with the aim of encouraging cultural stakeholders to develop more responsible practices. COFEES offers a wide range of programs and tools to achieve this goal.
