This year, Parcours de l'Art has entrusted a carte blanche to two curators. This invitation reflects its wish to broaden its horizons by bringing together different perspectives and areas of expertise.
By contributing their distinctive sensibility and curatorial experience, they will help enrich the programme and offer the public a fresh and thought-provoking take on contemporary art.
sandra barré
Sandra Barré is an independent curator, art critic, and researcher based in Paris. She is preparing a doctoral thesis at Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne on olfactory aesthetic experience and published L'odeur de l'art (Lettre Volée, 2021). Her curatorial work includes the exhibitions Odore, l'art, l'odeur et le sacré (2021), Mondes Sensibles (MIP, Grasse, 2024), and Par la fumée (POUSH, 2024).
For this Hospitalités edition, she has devised an olfactory curation that considers perfume as an art form in its own right. Here, smell becomes a vehicle for sensory experience, moving between welcome and displacement, familiarity and strangeness. Scents summon both the comfort of home and the traces of a journey, revealing that moment of encounter between two worlds. Perfume thus becomes an aesthetic experience of hospitalities.
As part of her curatorial carte blanche, she invites the French-American artist Émilie McDermott, a graduate of the Beaux-Arts de Cergy whose practice explores memory, sensory perception, and our relationship to place through installations and participatory devices, along with four perfumers — Lucille Lefrang, Amélie Bourgeois, Anne-Sophie Behaghel, and Mathilde Laurent — to explore themes of welcome, the foreign, home, passage, and exile, and to have their work recognized for what it is: a sensitive and singular creation.
nathalie Amae
Festival OVNi
After studying at the École du Louvre, Nathalie Amae worked from 1994 onward on the creation of major international art fairs in the fields of publishing, photography, design, and primitive art. Through the conceptualization and development of these events, she experimented with new approaches to organization and presentation. In 2019, she founded Alta Volta Agency and the fair L'Antichambre, followed by Savage Collective in 2020. Since 2022, she has been the artistic director of OVNi, Nice's Biennale of the Moving Image.
As part of a cross-curation between the OVNi festival and Parcours de l'Art, Nathalie Amae proposes to present the video Mayday, Mayday, Mayday by the Brazilian artist Berna Reale, in resonance with the theme Hospitalités.
Mirroring this proposal, two videos by artists featured this year at Parcours de l'Art — Only fems by Cristiano Codeço De Amorim and Images de Tunisie by Younes Ben Slimane — will in turn be screened as part of the OVNi festival, from November 27 to 29, 2026, at the Hôtel Windsor in Nice.
