Lucile Notin-Bourdeau
Drawing - Church of the Celestines
Lucile Notin-Bourdeau lives in Avignon. She has been drawing since she was 4 years old. That same year, she was diagnosed with autism and then excluded from school before starting first grade.
Every day, she creates dozens of drawings with a black ballpoint pen. Her hand is precise, lively, and free. From the age of 10, color gradually begins to appear.
Discovered at a very young age by Claude Ponti, Lucile is now 24 years old and has participated in more than 80 exhibitions, from the LAM to the Papotin, to the pages of Le Monde.
Lying in the middle of the living room, Lucile draws as if she were playing. Without erasures or a defined goal, she lets each line compose itself in relation to the previous one and seems to have no limits other than those of the page. Once the drawing is finished, without looking at it, she throws it in front of her and moves on to the next.
Whereas Lucile must constantly strive to become like us in order to be respected as an individual, the world of Art welcomes her as she is.
His drawings in turn become a space of mutual hospitality, a way of opening the doors to his singular way of inhabiting the world.
