Darius Dolatyari-Dolatdoust is an artist born in 1994 in Chambéry. His transdisciplinary practice lies at the crossroads of performance, textiles, scenography and design.
At the heart of his work, costume occupies a central place: conceived as an extension of the body, it becomes a tool for transformation, storytelling, and exploration of identity. Through material, gesture, and movement, he questions notions of memory, heritage, and belonging, particularly in connection with his Iranian origins.
He created Persian Interior , a series produced in collaboration with artist Darius Dolatyari-Dolatdoust and the Hervé Baume company, where iron and textiles meet in a collection of furniture and forms: a screen, a table, a candlestick, two patchwork and metal seats, and a tapestry. Inspired by ancient Persian references, the series imagines an imaginary interior, where fragments of memory, stories, and unseen presences are recomposed. The screens and furniture define open and porous zones, inviting the viewer to move among the forms and textures.
Persian Interior explores the poetry of an inaccessible “home”: a space of passage and encounter where myths, stories and objects engage in silent dialogue.
